Over twenty years ago I got myself hopelessly hooked on photography
when I watched my father develop a print in his newly constructed
basement darkroom. Watching the image slowly appear in the tray of
chemicals was the most magical thing I’d ever seen! I’ve been chasing that
magic ever since!

In high school I worked as a photographer for the school paper. I was told early on
that I was a bit of a natural and that I should ‘go with it’, it was great advice......Thank you
Steve Fecht! (Hey Steve, I guess you knew what you were talking about, this year I was
named one of Michigan’s Top 7 Photographers by the MPPA.)

After a few years working for several local newspapers and even some time in forensic photography, I reluctantly gave wedding
photography a try. I had no idea that I would thrive in the fast-paced, stressful, rollercoaster world that is wedding photography.
I look forward to the new adventure and creative challenge of each wedding. Each one makes me a better photographer. I became
international last year, I shot my first destination wedding in Mumbai, India....who knew??? In 2006 I was doing a commercial
photo shoot for Book of Hope and wound up shooting a wedding in Ghana, Africa too! What an awesome experience both were!

I believe strongly that we are here to serve one another and try to live my life with a servant’s heart. There are several organizations
that I must mention that exemplify this principle and put it into practice daily. They have honored me with the priviledge of
serving them as a photographer, they are as follows: The Michigan Heart Gallery, Life Challenge, Book of Hope
International, AAA Crisis Pregnancy Center, Royal Family Kids Camp and Brightmoor Christian Church.

There are several people who have been and continue to be the ‘wind beneath my wings’.....yes, I said it, its a bit cheesy but they
really are the loves of my life; Kevin, my husband of nearly 21 years and my 3 great kids Sarah, Michael and Rebecca. You guys have
no idea how much joy you have brought to my life! I always get a kick out of listening to you all complain when I stop the car in the
middle of nowhere to jump out and grab a few ‘quick’ shots. Of course its never quick, but I have treasured every mumble of
“What’s she doing now? Hey Dad, she took the big lens, we’re gonna be here forever!” Only children of photographers understand
the true meaning of “this is the last shot, I swear!”

I’m also a big believer in continuing ones education. Photography is ever changing and to keep up with the latest technology
and trends I keep myself active with the Professional Photographers Association(PPA) and the Michigan PPA. Thanks to the
PPA, I’ve had the priviledge of studying with some of the top photographers in the world!
